    I am still away from EFF on medical leave. All of the Section 230 reform ideas are bad. The COVID-19 IP waivers are good, but not good enough. That's pretty much everything I'd be saying if I were at work.

    The stuff about CIA and the Iowa Writers' Workshop is interesting, but inferring things about a project or organization just based on who funded it is usually a dead end. Everyone dances for the funder. That's how it works.

    If America is ever going to dig itself out of this hole it's going to have to simultaneously relearn its past and completely re-envision its future, a massive undertaking on the scale of any mobilization for war or response to a disaster or economic collapse.

    I will help them by driving them there if they don't talk.

    Last week I spoke to over 5000 people in rural Georgia. Most were not vaccinated because they still had questions. EVERY question they asked was legitimate and important. Stop telling people to “just get vaccinated” if you aren’t willing to put in the work to help them do it.

    👏👏👏 South Dakota came close to passing a law like this earlier this year. I’m so thrilled so see & fighting back against Montana’s version of this law.

    BREAKING: We are suing Montana over a recently-passed law that prevents many transgender people from having an accurate birth certificate. This is the fourth lawsuit we’ve filed in response to an anti-trans law that passed this year.

    Some argue that more patents lead to more innovation. But too many patents can raise the costs of developing products, and narrow the filed of people who can legally do so, none of which helps innovation.

    Imagine killing people needlessly to advance a personal ambition and then demanding not just credit for it but *praise*. Who was the last person to do that? Manson? Bundy? Maybe someone with a better knowledge of the history of serial killers can tell me.

    Confession: I had to Google "fake gay writer" yesterday before writing this tweet.

    I cannot handle the inevitable stupidity of this discourse. Fiction writers use real-life details *all the time*; it doesn't make it stealing, or autofiction, or memoir, or unethical.

    Shit. He was such a sweet and funny person.

    Words cannot express the heartbreak over the news that Sherwin Siy died today. Sherwin was an amazing colleague, a talented lawyer, and a good friend. He was an incredibly good guy. When I am less in shock I will have more to say. Be good to each other.
