  1. The check I just deposited was so small the teller reached her hand under the glass and squeezed my hand and told me stay strong

  2. Y'all want to hold onto this illusion that the only difference between those who have & those who don't is how hard they work, but no.

  3. Financial literacy is important. It CAN help you manage windfalls or decent salaries, but making minimum wage, as of now, is to be stuck.

  4. You can't manage money you don't have access to. That's like me taking a class on photography with no access to a camera. It's just theory.

  8. Because THIS is the nature of parody, of speaking truth to power, of commenting on the exploitation of black bodies for white moralizations.

  9. Are you objecting to poking fun at self-centered white women on voluntourist trips or humanitarian romps objectifying African people? Why?

  10. If this parody offends you, have a very deep reflection as to what you're defending.

  12. There've been a couple of people in my mentions saying "this can't be real" or "this isn't funny"...

  13. I am sick with laughter at this white savior parody account on Instagram (h/t )

  14. And also research why you feel the need to "not be like the others" because THAT is a well-documented pathology.

  15. So before you ask a dumbass question posturing yourself as an exception to a "stereotypical norm," go do some research.

  16. Black people do things we either simply enjoy or because we're shaped by the environments we inhabit with the resources we currently have.

  17. "So you got a man? So you can't have no friends?"

  18. The answer to all of the is "a stack a month."
