I am both loving and simultaneously wishing that it didn't contain twelve different characters called Thomas.

I can safely say that in 22 years of being a political journalist, I've never experienced a day like today. No.10 sources now insisting that political editors like myself "are not banned, they are just not invited".

An example of the consequences of the delay in publishing the Public Health Grant allocations. These need to be confirmed urgently. Strong case for a long-term funding settlement for public health, just as the NHS has.

My dear British friends. We were, we are, and we will always be a Community. And no brexit will ever change that. 🇪🇺❤️🇬🇧

CMO England statement: We can confirm that two patients in England, who are members of the same family, have tested positive for coronavirus.

The patients are receiving specialist NHS care, and we are using
tried and tested infection control procedures to prevent
further spread of the virus.

This is the real question - lots of talk for a while about the need to declare a PHEIC...but what actually, practically changes now?

The racism I've seen emerge – not just on twitter but in parts of the media in certain countries – is utterly abhorrent. I'm very concerned how this will continue to escalate socially but also in discriminatory & non-evidence based government actions.

I really loved this thread about in & during . We are in the early days of the outbreak. If government actions are disproportionate to the information that we have then vulnerable populations could really suffer.

Exactly! Political scientists must be part of these discussions. But it's a broader problem for : in a mad rush for critical , treatments, modeling, it's forgotten until too late that control isn't possible w/o understanding people.

I agree and this isn’t the first time that BA has suspended travels in the midst of and . They never resumed travel to after the outbreak & the challenge to travel there remains until today. This is hugely consequential and not in alignment with

Incredible interviews with Auschwitz survivors Susan Pollack and Ivor Perl in Today In Focus . They emerged from the unimaginable horror with such compassion & wisdom. To hear them talk is as inspirational as it is humbling. Please listen

Interesting list of questions below to be considered in relation to the social and political dynamics of the current outbreak (w/ some links to useful docs)
