@Walgreens this store needs security reinforcement by the front door - perhaps a system for someone to check receipts. The leadership of SF doesn’t think that theft like this is a big deal — but the members of our neighborhood feel terrified even going to pickup our medicine.

When he told the clerk this was happening — the clerk said “
@SFPD won’t come or do anything”. I feel like we’re living in the prequel to Batman Begins thanks to@chesaboudin.Show this thread

This has been a major issue in Hayes Valley for a long time. It’s absolutely terrible

Everything in Castro Walgreen is now locked. It takes forever to get stuff. It is very depressing and I don’t even go there any more.

Ladies and gentlemen,
@KamalaHarris enabled this type of theft in California as the “Safe Neighborhoods and Schools Act”. Coming soon to your community - End of conversation

What exactly is life threatening about this
@elisegabriel ? I don't see any weapons, I don't see the person acting hostile or threatening. It sucks the store is being shoplifted, but I wouldn't exactly say I'm scared to go out by this. -
I appreciate the question: It’s scary when this has happened multiple times and sometimes they randomly start screaming or pull out a weapon. I’ve had so many terrifying encounters - my default is to just exit.
