A study from 2/20 found that 57% who strongly identify with being Native American & 67% of those who frequently engage in tribal cultures were found to be deeply insulted by caricatures of Native American culture.https://psyarxiv.com/d5gte/

Specifically to the Redskins logo, they’re not. Which is what the discussion is about:https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2019/08/10/poll-of-native-americans-view-of-redskins-name-finds-proud-most-common-answer/ …

You support the word the settlers used to describe us when they placed bounties on our scalps. They were paying to have us murdered. They aren't going to use a term of endearment when doing so.pic.twitter.com/HmHu0C3vSR

I never said I “support” the name. Do not put words in my mouth. In fact, it be helpful if they change the name. Not the logo. Get it?

The logo is a stereotype. It is a false representation. You know as well as I do that each sovereign Nation has it's own cultures. Mascots/logos teach the country we're monolithic, erasing our tribal identities & making our struggle for self determination harder.

That’s your opinion. We’re all entitled to them and I do appreciate having a respectful discussion. I researched the origin of the logo design and disagree. I believe there are more important issues that face our native communities then a logo designed by Native Americans.

Agree to disagree. However, if there are, as you say, more important issues that face our communities than the logo then why did you bring it up? I responded to your tweet, not the other way around. If it's such a non issue why bother? Because it is an issue.

Again, you are misconstruing. I never said it wasn’t an issue. Just not the most important. And we can disagree. It’s ok.
