Like what they did with Demi. People were saying nothing but jokes & shitty things. Meanwhile i cry every time i listen to her Sober song. I hope she gets better and i hope people who struggle with addiction can find the peace and help they need.

SUBSTANCE ABUSE IS A DISEASE AND PEOPLE WHO SUFFER WITH IT NEED EMPATHY AND UNDERSTANDING. Take care of your friends. Drugs aren’t a joke, and not something to be taken lightly.

Same goes with alcohol and food among other things. Just because it’s legal or safe in normal and healthy amounts it doesn’t mean it’s not serious when someone abuses it. TAKE. CARE. OF. EACH. OTHER.

Mental health and addiction tie together, there is a REASON people have dependence issues with substances, and to discount them and say they're disgusting or ANYTHING is wrong, you're not a mental health advocate if you only recognize select few illnesses. They need help.

Exactly! Substance abuse is a side effect of an underlying mental health condition. Most don’t even know they are suffering but they self medicate with drugs. Cure the underlying cause cure the addiction. People who come forward are only brave nothing else!
