This is the issue I have with "gay casting for gay roles isn't a problem" If gay guys can pull off straight roles, why can't they be the go to for gay roles? Its an instant reassurance for lgbt youth in representation and shows that lgbt can be just as good and worthy of choice!

Okay but there are millions of cis roles. There are barely any lgbt roles. Cis people don’t have a problem finding roles. It’s harder to find good representation for lgbt in acting. Maybe if there where more lgbt friendly roles they wouldn’t have to be casted as straight.
