Language model-based tools are new technologies with exciting potential but some current limitations.
This is V0 of sharing how Elicit works & where it doesn't so that researchers know how to integrate it into their workflows and what to expect from it.

elicitだと論文を提示して、その論文も読めるかつその内容をサマライズしてくれるので素晴らしいです。
GoogleScholarよりも圧倒的に調べたことへの適合度が高いです。
なので、知りたい知見を的確に得られます。

Elicit.org is really helpful for reading up on new fields and topics, where one is not yet familiar with the specific jargon.

Where's the AI tool that lets you search for a paper and ask any questions about it? Even link ideas with other papers? Has anyone built this yet?
I know Elicit, but it doesn't let me ask specific questions about the paper or have a "conversation" with it.
Use case: I don't… Show more

Made a super quick video of how i used to find a bunch of ML benchmarks. Still a lot of performance improvements to make but pretty sure there's nothing else like this? Also it's very annoying to have to do this manually

I'm still always surprised when I meet people who somehow think that ChatGPT will give real citations instead making stuff up! Please educate the folks around you! And maybe tell them about elicit.org or something if they really want to use LLMs for lit review.

🔬 Cool AI new tool: elicit.org - AI comes to the aid of literature reviews!
It certainly seems impressive. Asking it “what is the evidence for aspirin in microvascular anastomosis?” outputted a number of excellent papers.
Let us know what you think below…

Elicit is hiring, by the way. If I hadn't obligated myself to investors by starting my own company this month, I'd be desperately applying for a job with these folks. Incredibly cool and useful stuff.

Click on a paper link and it opens up on the right, with various metadata and other analyses on the left. Plus, if there is some part of the paper that stumps you, you can ask about it. (Haven't tried that out yet.)

Here's the response to "What is the latest interpretation for recurring slope lineae on Mars?" The summary does a decent job of capturing the current debate on this question.

After checking out elicit.org, I'm not sure I'll ever use Google Scholar again. It's basically an AI-enhanced Google Scholar, where you can ask natural language research questions, and get a summary/interpretation along with the matching research papers.

I just tried using the AI search on elicit.org. In my first search I asked,
"How many types of transgenderism are there?"
The top results are great.
This is a really promising sign of how useful AI will be for lit reviews.

Anyone else doing a lit review should spend some time playing with the Elicit search engine (). I spent my morning procrastinating and testing with papers I knew and its summaries of findings are pretty spot on. Does seem designed for other fields but still neat.
