Her contract was approved while she was 4 months pregnant. She had no job 2 months later, when visibly pregnant. That's consistent. The only 'contradiction' is the Minutes saying she resigned. That info came from the principal, who likely wouldn't say "fired due to pregnancy."

This is obvious to any woman over the age 50, but appears to be difficult for those who never experienced this kind of discrimination. These was very common and something I experienced with my first pregnancy as well.

False. I starting my teaching career in 1972 for a whopping 8000 a year. And it was in dairy farm heaven. No teacher was ask to resign due to pregnancy. The civil rights bill made discrimination unlawful

Read the article. It was a “motion to extend Warren a "2nd year" contract for a two-days-per-week teaching job. That job is similar to the one she held the previous year...”. So, it was a 2-days/wk that was “similar” to but not exactly the job she had previously.

Read the entire article. She didn't finish the required graduate courses for the teaching certificate. She was lucky to be renewed without it and she declined.

It's an interesting story, and Elizabeth Warren should correct the record. But if this is all you've got on her besides "Pocahontas" -- school board minutes from 1971 -- this is pretty sad.

I’m not a Warren person, and I’ve only seen her speak 3 times. Each time, she told the story about being fired over her pregnancy. It’s integral to her “Aunt Bea” story which is integral to her identity. Not sure how that’s insignificant.
