1) INFRASTRUCTURE In 1933, FDR started building projects that TRANSFORMED America. We built highways, bridges, dams, and water systems, all laying the foundation for the economic boom that gave us the largest economy in the world and created the MIDDLE CLASS.
2) But, we failed to learn from that lesson, and we coasted on the success of those builders. Here in Michigan, we understand the cost of that failure better than most. We drive on roads that tear our cars to pieces, while our children are poisoned by out of date plumbing.
3) We need to learn from past mistakes, not only FIXING our existing infrastructure, but also BUILDING for the future. MI-10 can lead the way in investing in renewable energy, universal broadband, and public transportation.
