Back in the Spring, I walked with teachers, parents, and amazing high school student in the MARCH FOR OUR LIVES in Port Huron and was moved to tears when I heard the stories of how afraid kids are and how they all believe that SOMETHING has to be done to stop this madness.
That’s why I was so proud when I found out today that I was selected as a CANDIDATE OF DISTINCTION by the MOMS DEMAND ACTION group.
This group of courageous moms was first organized after the tragedy at Sandy Hook and then reached out to other parents also touched by tragedy across the country. They have become one of the most important and inspiring groups advocating for change in America.
They promote and fight for common-sense reforms that the VAST majority of all Americans (including most NRA members) also support. I support those reforms, too.
I look forward to talking about those solutions with people from all walks of life all across the Thumb. There are many things we may disagree about, but there are much more that we all have in common. Even on this issue that seemingly divides us.
