We have a cop shortage in SF. This is problematic. We have ~50% cops per capita as other major cities in the US. I speak to them often. They seem frustrated. Saying things like "the city will never do..." The tone is learned helplessness. Retention is poor. I'm concerned.

Yes. I think we need our DA office to prosecute the crimes that our officers are working so hard to combat. I regularly see
@SFPDTenderloin posting that they are arresting someone for the 9th or 10th time in a year. That must be infuriating for the cops who risk their lives.3 replies 2 retweets 80 likes -
We should outlaw Meth & Fentanyl & arrest dealers. We should work with ICE on this as a huge % are here illegally. We should develop a strategy about the tents and give cops tools to help people out of homelessness.

I’m with you Michelle. But if you think the same city who votes a guy who used to shill for Hugo Chavez as District Attorney is going to get ICE involved in anything, you’re kidding yourself.

Im not sure that’s the only interpretation. I didn’t vote for @chesaboudin but I also didn’t vote for @suzyloftus because reasons. Mostly I didn’t understand the consequences of ranked choice voting. Nearly 2/3 of people put someone other than Chesa as their first choice.
