    This. I call it “Box Checking” Equity...slogan on a t-shirt ✅, conf conversation ✅ (but not revisited), tough conversation started ✅ (silence ensues)... checking boxes looks like interest but the amount of actual action reveals the depth of commitment...

    We have to teach all methods of revision, not just the one we prefer. We have to let kids explore all of the ways to revise so that revision supports them as a writer not just what we think is best! This also means we have to know the methods of revision! 🙈

    Just spent 50 minutes with and my mind is 🤯 Revising is not about the mistakes... it’s about making writing better! We can’t expect kids to master it all but we can lead them into revision work with several big goals knowing that all writers will grow!
