Not true. #TheDAO generates owners, not customers. It's a new paradigm enabling decentralized ownership.
The DAO is an excellent solution to the non-existent problem of Kickstarter absconding with the funds.

KS itself is a company, and has investors, analogous to DAO members. Main difference btw them is legal protection, it seems.

Indeed. I'd add that the algorithmic limits on fees/overhead/reward redistribution may be appealing to some.
