The current climate in AI has so many parallels to 2021 web3 it's making me uncomfortable. Narratives based on zero data are accepted as self-evident. Everyone is expecting as a sure thing "civilization-altering" impact (& 100x returns on investment) in the next 2-3 years

1/ Semiconductors are essential for Russia's weapons used in Ukraine. This is what happened to the transactions with countries that used to be Russia's top suppliers in 2021. Note not all semiconductors are under sanctions. w/@mironov_fm

Honestly I started the year admiring and now am seriously worried about the example he is setting. Also it just makes no bloody sense — there are no issues with Twitter tech stack that would warrant a full rewrite. That’s just insane.

A good description of why I remain a blockchain sceptic. Blockchain is 13+ years old and main use has been to liberate fools from their money and pay for drugs and weapons.

NY (& Paris, LDN) are better than Amsterdam for visitors as you can pick up a Citibike (v. high quality) and drop it off at another location, so no worries about theft, etc. Was in Amsterdam last week & found no such scheme.
The bike scheme replaces some public transp., better!
