It's in bad taste to engage in too much comparison in this area, and I won't make a habit of it, but there's a limit to how far you can have bizarrely unbalanced double standards and yet ask people not to notice them.

Now as it goes, I'd have thought the Chief Rabbi's remarks manifestly constitute news, like or agree with them or not, but you might at the same time expect journalists to notice that they come not just at election time, but *in the fucking Times*.

Does the Times have any agenda, any track record, any issues at all in this area? There can't be a single journalist reporting on the matter who doesn't know, and for that matter, who doesn't know exactly what they are.

Now funny thing is, all our political correspondents are very happy to report on political events *as politics*, that is, to understand that there are competing parties, and that among their intentions, whenever anything comes up, is to do damage to the others.

But to swing back round to my original point, unless you really think that Corbyn is far worse tham Johnson, and Labour far worse than the Conservatives - which is absurd - or you can explain why the reporting works the way it does.
