Why do Westerners pronounce Beijing as Beizshing, rather than Beijing like jingle bells?
Jingle bells is not only more intuitive than the imaginary zshing sound, but it's also closer to the actual Chinese pronunciation.
To be fair, I feel like the "x" sound is not intuitive.
But yeah, not sure why it goes from "si" or even "zi" to "shi". Where does the h come from?
And same issue with the J. How does J become Zh?!
