One of the things that I have struggle expressing that can be viscerally felt is the idea that certain frameworks reduce reality in useful, good ways, while others do not.
Learning to differentiate between the two becomes important if you want to accelerate expertise.

I often return to Lave & March’s (1993) criteria for a “beautiful model” - Simplicity: it has a small number of assumptions. Fertility: it produces a relatively large number of interesting predictions per assumption. Surprise: it produces implications that are surprising to us.
