My untutored assumption is that you're looking at the Venn diagram of low wage countries and countries with large numbers of skilled blacksmiths.

Sounds plausible. I don’t know much should Indian films, so was wondering if maybe some corner of Bollywood was really into large scale fantasy/medieval stories.
