It strikes me as a Wittgensteinian point here on what can be explained, and also that the things you're talking about are highly dependent on a tacit visceral knowledge of having faced the problem before.

Yes you're exactly right. When I think about this topic, I mostly feel feelings of regret and pain. And when I talk to fellow operators about this topic, we can identify if we've both gone through the same feelings of regret and pain.
