Oh this is great. So many ways to frame this — I thought “it takes time to get lucky” and “cash = optionality” were two really good ones.

One of the less obvious reasons I’ve learned to not burn cash too quickly is that it can take longer than you think to arrive at important insights. Time has a way of offering you more odds of getting lucky & giving you room to make trajectory changing discoveries.

Another way I’ve heard it framed, not necessarily in terms of insight, is that you’re more likely to get on base with more at-bats than putting everything into one swing.
