3 precursors I've been studying in throwing with a kimono: - Where you take your opp. (Movement) - Off-balancing (Kuzushi) - Grip dominance (Danaher posits there are 3 levels) Lower grip dominance means lower amplitude throws or guard pulls (in BJJ)

Every time you see a judo throw executed in top competition, something must have happened to set up the throw. It took me a long time to realise that what was truly important to study wasn’t the throw itself, but the precursors that allowed the throw to happen.

Even with these 3 precursors explicitly defined, the possible combinations of how these 3 result in a throw are ENDLESS (at least for now, to the untrained eye of a beginner...). Also hope I can make money from this one day given how big of an obsession it is hahah
