And by ‘policymakers’ I mean ‘all human beings’. I didn’t realise that reducing a decision down to ‘do what is morally right’ is YET ANOTHER way the human brain attempts to substitute a hard decision question for an easier one.

Sadly I think in practice “do what is morally right” is less common than “do what my political party thinks is morally right”
