It’s like … Cornered Resource, except that it works by leaning into this weird ecosystem dynamic — where adversarial competition ensures an environment so harsh every weak competitor gets wiped out.

Stupid of me, of COURSE it’s an increasing returns power. PayPal had more data than anyone else, and so they had enough fuel (and the technical ability) to keep up with increasingly sophisticated fraudsters.

Not sure there is one, just seems like a short term market inefficiency on the face of it.
