It’s a tad more complex than that. Computational theory is more math than science, programming language theory is more art and engineering than science, operating systems is more engineering than science (or art). Ditto for just about every other subfield.

I think Abelman’s assertion is right, CS is more some combination of art, math and engineering than science. We don’t, after all, do null hypothesis testing.
