I liked the original tweet thread because I saw

@timoreilly

retweet it, and I thought “oh, smart person retweeted it, must be good.” Never did I think that it could be a conspiracy theory.

Hillel points out that just because something supports your priors (e.g. crypto is bad for the world) that doesn’t mean you’re allowed to suddenly change your epistemological standards and retweet conspiracy theories. He’s right. Gosh, but I was blind to it anyway!
