Are folks who complain about bumhunting scrubs?

(Bumhunting is pretty much what trading is. It's all a food fight to contra uninformed flow and not provide liquidity to the rest.)

Wow I got totally nerd sniped on this one.
Just spent a full 30 minutes generating arguments for and arguments against this being a scrub behaviour.

Yeah I think I’ve pretty much settled on “probably scrub behaviour”; assuming the game is “make the most money possible”

yes, it's scrub behavior
on the other hand, accepting this makes it normalized, like a rite of passage or hazing
if you want to be a good poker player, is it necessary to go through bumhunting?

However, if complaining about bumhunting gets rid of it or makes it taboo, that allows scrub players to make money
Is being a loud scrub a non-scrub strategy?

It's also interesting how the meta of the meta has changed.
Example "selling out" used to be taboo and now everything is about monetization. Sign of the ideal moving from artistic purity to CREAM?

When exactly, and how, did the intense stigmatization of “selling out,” so central to gen X culture and the 90s, become obsolete and even incomprehensible? I don’t think people now worry about their heroes, or themselves, “selling out” in at all the same way as they did then.

Seriously, growing up in the 90s, being a sell-out or poser was the worst thing to be branded. Cultural change in that way is a neat topic, would like to read more about that

Wow. That IS something I'd not noticed. Probably happened really gradually, at that.
I think the answer is here and that selling out should never have been seen as bad. Selling out is cast as greedy when it's often just necessity and we have shed our elitism about it

Replying to @EmilyDreyfuss and @saschasegan
when Winona Ryder refused the MTV job she just used her dads gas card to buy groceries, so wasn’t she actually just denying her own chance to have success and instead living off the selling out of her father? I’m sure his gas card money came from some bullshit sell out job
