I’m really surprised and excited by this. The short of it: we used Applied Cognitive Task Analysis and extracted a small chunk of tacit expertise from John’s head. It works, it really does! The ACTA technique summarised: commoncog.com/blog/an-easier

my sincerest thank you to @ejames_c for a long time I've felt a big tension between "simple frameworks" (that get everyone excited) and the beautiful mess, where tacit knowledge and experience reign Cedric shared some techniques that made me realize this is not a trade-off. 🙏

If you must take only one thing away from this: techniques that extract tacit expertise from the heads of experts exist, and you can find them in the field of Naturalistic Decision Making, and you may use them to get at the skills you want from the experts around you!
