It is a pity that in many domains that we are interested in, the best practitioners are not the best theorists, and the best theorists are not the best practitioners.

And then after Googling a bit, she said "ok he seems like a total theorist, not a real practitioner." Which, if you know anything about me, probably ranks in the top 🔥 possible.

To your point, he has such a devoted following. I can’t figure out if they love his ideas in theory, or have they found ways to apply patterns to their own lives and projects that have benefitted them. I’ve found that architects are not usually the ones in love with his ideas.
