One of the unexpected side effects of using the Ghost blogging engine is that it’s harder to put in footnotes.
I used to write with a lot of footnotes. Whole-mini-blog-post-inside-of-a-footnote style of footnotes. Now I can’t, so I don’t.
Still unsure if benefit or drawback.

Apologies if you've talked about this before, but why did you switch? And what did you use before?

Nah it was always Ghost. It’s just that Ghost 2 was pure markdown, and Ghost 3 was a more fancy WYSIWYG editor that made footnotes more difficult to write. So footnotes went away.

There was a Ghost theme based on Tufte CSS

Not functional anymore, and I don't know if there are ways to implement it in the new version.
