The hardest thing about working independently isn’t really the uncertainty or the lack of day-to-day social interactions (though those are hard) … it’s the lack of structure and the difficulty of facing off against The Resistance.

This is true! I was going to add the usual caveats about “depends on the type of work, and your personality, and so on” but I was fairly sure you would get it 😬 — my issue is mostly an internal one.
