I think a general rule of thumb I’m beginning to see is that the history of ideas (as opposed to the history of businesses, or wars) are always far weirder than I can imagine them to be.

Seems remain to a book that I'm spending a few hours with today, coffee and hand.
Holmes sounds like he'd view propaganda as an indespensible tool for governance.
He and Ellul might not get along very well.
