Been thinking of this recently.
There’s fear of failure. But then there’s also, inexplicably, fear of success.
It sounds bizarre that both flavours exist, but they do — the former tends to crop up at the start of a project; the latter when it’s nearer to completion.

Fear of success = fear of shipping?
When we ship a project we're exposed to feedback and criticism, which is scary. Makes sense to self-sabotage near the end, so we don't have to face it.
