From 7 Powers, strategy can only be crafted by doing, not by planning.
This is possibly the best book on business strategy I’ve read. It supplants Porter, and Rumelt, and pretty much everything I’ve read on the topic before this. Not bad for something of this length!

Ultimately, Helmer‘s recommendations are pragmatic: you can really only do strategy by taking action, and watching the information generated by your actions.
His framework merely gives you lenses to spot opportunities.
