Running C25K has been an absolutely fascinating experience. I’d never been much of a runner — I ran when I was a competitive judoka, but didn’t like it. I started C25K because I needed something to keep me sane during the pandemic. I recommend it; it’s been very effective.

And even if you’re not into running, the general principle seems more important. You want a thing that is: - somewhat difficult - where progress is guaranteed if you put in the work. - that lasts a good bit of time (several months) - that you would feel proud of at the end.

That's brilliant stuff! I have a friend who's building and painting gundam models, and another one who is playing Euro Truck Simulator. It seems a number of people have started doing 'difficult hobby that I can use as a source of control in my life'!
