Anyone who knows my writing knows that I am able to synthesise large amounts of information into my pieces.

What I would like to see is “I have tried PS, and I found these problems X, Y, and Z. I found workarounds A, B, and C for them. But I believe it is flawed because P and Q.”

Ideally, you would be doing both PS and PI, but if you had to choose 1, progressive ideation should be prioritized.
On my end, I do very little PS and do more PI, but as you said, I don't have a body of work to show that's it's better.
