The funny thing is that I'm not looking for a job, and I'm not giving up my current thing. But keeping tabs on a job market — especially when said job market is the security net — is just basic career hygiene.

Our current pandemic has really driven home for me how quickly certain career dislocations may occur.
I think many of us keep tabs on our job markets, but we do so at a low information rate. Now is probably a good time to temporarily increase the sampling rate.
