OMG I didn't even realise the double meaning. But yeah, ASICS has outdated tech! (I went deep into the rabbit hole, I know). The Glideride is the best new shoe they have, and the first breath of fresh air in a long time. The other shoe brands have sped past them on materials.

The meta now is flyknit-like mesh, crazy long-lasting foam that doesn't lose bounce over time (e.g. Nike's React) or crazy foam that returns 80+% energy (Nike's Zoomx or New Balance's Fuelcell) AND a carbon fibre plate that acts like a spring.
