I think this is the first time I've seen someone look at the recognition primed decision making model and immediately seeing the implications for user research. I certainly didn't, not at the beginning.

Posts 1 and 2 in this series are incredible. I think I first learned about RPD from 'Thinking, Fast and Slow', but I hadn't looked at it in-depth. Lots of lessons for personal practice, also a great perspective when doing user research in a complex domain.

RPD is incredible for software design and UX research. The typical workflow is: a) study how experts use an interface or tool b) if the tool surfaces information, study what cues the expert pays attention to, and what priorities they assign to things c) redesign for that.
