"fail fast - learn quickly" is probably the most popular interpretation of the OODA loop. I think that the essay by @commoncog does a great job of addressing why that's not so useful. And he builds out a version that effectively links it to strategy & imagination.

I am consistently surprised when I read blog posts that spend a huge amount of time on the OODA loop itself, as opposed to everything Boyd built ON TOP OF the loop.
