In which someone argues for some position, and, instead of working it out from the unique situation of the company, backs it up by linking to a VC/thought leader/startup blog post.

Advice is absolutely useful! But trying to convince teammates by quoting extensively from an article is terrible — it's not convincing, and it gets in the way of reasoning from basic principles.
