It’s been difficult to maintain productivity during this lockdown. I can normally ignore the news to do work, but this is one of the rare times where what’s in the news ACTUALLY affects my life.
So, right now, a huge chunk of my time is spent reading the news. 😔

Same. Getting so sick of the vortex. How far is Singapore from being back to normal? Or are you watching for the 2nd order effect in the news?

I'm currently stuck in Malaysia, haha, which is on lockdown. Life in Singapore is more normal — at least, that's what all my friends are saying. I was hoping to be back in SG by early April, but it looks like that plan's changing again.

Local transmissions cases increasing again while imported cases expected to be high
New measures kicking in today
Such as capacity limits at Malls, closing of some businesses such as Ktv, bars etc, demarcation of empty seats at eating places, heavy penalties if sit those seats

Thank goodness. I watched the video of Lawrence Wong crying and followed HSK's speech with interest.
SG is really pulling out all the stops.
There are certain .. nuanced.. things I find hard to say in public twitter that I don’t mind saying in person. Suffice to say, the govt is trying its best to manage the tension between keeping the economy running and doing the right thing medically speaking.

If journalist were to ask one of the ministers, “so is SG really pulling out all the stops now?”
They would say along line of “we've never hesitated doing the right thing for our people” & then cite eg such as one of the 1st countries to restrict travellers from affected areas

If u read carefully, it seems like they willing to do more in terms of stimulus when the need arises. And they don’t rule that out
Not exactly keeping the gunpowder dry & also there’s more of that from where it's coming from
ditto for restrictive measures
