1/ This was a thoughtful read. Have you looked into the idea of "wicked" fields and "kind" fields of learning? I do still tend to think that mastering the fundamentals are much easier in kind fields (board games, Judo) where rules are better defined to get to the meta stage.

Yes I have! Well, the original idea of wicked vs kind is by Robin Hogarth and his team, in a series of papers published 2 decades ago, but you're probably referring to the version presented in Range, which I haven't finished yet. This is an angle I hadn't thought of!

I've done deep dives into the Klein and Kahneman paper before on the blog (they famously extended Hogarth's ideas), and I'm really curious to see where Epstein takes his criticism of deliberate practice. I'm about 40% done with the book.
