Haven't read it but check out Liu Cixin's book "the three body problem". As how my friend puts it - it's China's answer to the LOTR trilogy.

I've read the three body problem trilogy. I definitely recommend it. I'm sure can vouch for it too!

I recommend The Three Body Problem but will warn that the third book is rather disappointing.
Alternatively, there’s The Broken Earth Trilogy, all 3 of which won the Hugo Award for best novel in 3 consecutive years!
