I happily spend 10 mins carefully reading a text to absorb the content but find it unacceptable to spend 10 mins watching/listening a video/audio without speeding it up.

Not irrationality! The brain processes words from reading much faster than humans can communicate.
Or, to phrase this differently, your reading speed operates near the peak processing rate for the content you’re reading.

I suppose it depends on what content I was trying to absorb. One example would be instructional vids.
But my immediate reaction when faced with any A/V content is "no time for this".
Sometimes I find audio/video is also good to help stop the mind from wandering.
