I’d be curious to know how he defines rationality. System 1 vs System 2 appears to be a really useful model; that it is reductive doesn’t really bother me (old but about all models being reductive, but some are useful?)

I think you’re conflating rationality with the System 1 and System 2 analogy. One can be a satisficer (reasonableness, in Chapman’s terminology) using System 1/2. This is covered in Klein’s work, though. Like him, I disagree with pure rationality.
