Just my opinion, but I feel like Apple’s recent industrial design is trending toward boring and soulless. Maybe that’s the point. But I keep hoping the pendulum will eventually switch direction.

Their latest gen industrial design seems to be more 'brutalist metal'. I'm alright with it, but it's an interesting evolution for sure.

I agree it’s an intentional shift that is strangely not reflected in the iPhone designs yet. (Or it spearheaded the trend with the iPhone 4.) It’ll make the swing back in 6-8 years even cooler.
