On a whim, I read and applied ’s Just Fucking Ship (my summary available here: commoncog.com/blog/just-f-ck) and found that it worked. Her key idea is to use a ‘backwards plan’. To my surprise, a friend pointed out that programmers equate backwards plans with Waterfall.

Is it a process problem breaking work down into manageable parts or client relationship/requirements problem? Reading Patton's User Story Mapping, and he writes that helping client understand what they don't need to build is a big part of solution. What's your experience?
