The Verge’s review of the iPad Pro is likely going to age badly. It would be really cool if Apple’s imagining an iPad future and they’re merely launching the hardware first, before the software. A corollary is that maybe the iPad is an untapped opportunity at this point.

1/ The most important word in your thread is “scenario”. I ordered a new MacBook Air because I still need or prefer a Mac for some scenarios. But my most used, and favorite, computers, are my iPads (a Pro and a mini) and my iPhone X.

I think all flagship reviews age fairly poorly - hardware is generally good, and software changes drastically. Reviews answer "how is this product right now" and not "how will this product be in the future"; same as always, only now there's actually change because of updates.

(flagship being the qualifier here, but what I really mean is Apple/Google flagship since they actually do release updates that change things dramatically. Not including Microsoft since there isn't a whole lot of software differentiation for Surface versus other PCs AFAIK.)

Yeah. They mentioned "devices should suit their users and not the reverse" which has *some* truth, but the reverse is also acceptable IMO IFF the adaptation is actually better. Not convinced we're there yet though.
