I've been told that Youtube is now the second largest search engine in the world. I didn't think much of this, but I'm currently home and watching my mother consume home improvement videos on Youtube like nobody's business.

Not sure why so many people are bashing ‘pivot to video’ on Twitter. An entire generation of people are growing up watching YouTube today. They don’t Google first. They search on YouTube. They open the YT app on their iPhones and Pixels and iPads and NEVER LEAVE.

That's different, though. I think the upset comes from journalists as part of pivot-to-Video; Facebook's "inflated viewtime" is maybe something to blame.

I don't think the increase in video includes "mainstream media news/journalism". I'd bet there's an increase in heavily skewed media, though. And that most increase in video is for entertainment (like, Fortnite videos or kpop whatever)
